How do I join an event?

To join an event, open the Nearify app and navigate to the Events section. You can browse available events or use a join code provided by an event organizer. Tap the event to view details and select "Join Event" to add it to your profile.

Why can't I see attendees?

Attendee visibility depends on the event settings configured by the organizer. You must be checked in to the event to see other attendees. Ensure that you have granted the app the necessary permissions and that you are within the event venue. Some events may restrict attendee visibility by design.

How do messages work?

Nearify enables direct messaging between attendees who are both participating in the same event. To send a message, tap on an attendee's profile and select the message option. Messages are private between the two users. You can block or report users from within the conversation.

How do I update my profile?

Open the Nearify app and go to your Profile tab. Tap the edit option to update your name, photo, interests, skills, and other profile details. Changes are saved immediately and will be visible to other attendees at shared events.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion by visiting our Delete Account page or emailing support@nearify.org with the subject line "Delete My Nearify Account." Include your name and account email address. Requests are processed within 30 days.

How do BLE proximity features work?

Nearify uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to detect nearby attendees at events, enabling proximity-based discovery. When BLE is active, your device broadcasts a short-range signal that allows the app to surface nearby users within the event. This feature requires Bluetooth permission and only operates within supported events. You can disable BLE access through your device settings at any time.

How do I report inappropriate behavior?

You can report a user directly from within the app by opening their profile and selecting the report option. For urgent concerns, please also email support@nearify.org with a description of the incident. We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly. Users who violate our Terms of Service may be suspended or permanently removed.
